Short answer: every Legal Operations role family below has a copyable 2026 job description template — Director, Manager, Systems Admin, AI & Automation, Analyst, Contract Manager, CLM Administrator, E-Billing Specialist, and Legal Project Manager. Each template includes scope, required platforms, qualifications, salary band guidance, and the language that filters operational thinkers from law-firm-adjacent generalists. Copy without restriction. Customize using the checklist below. Post on HireLegalOps to reach an audience that already knows what a CLM is.

Customization checklist

Run every template through these edits before you post. The defaults are calibrated for a mid-size tech / SaaS company — they will mislead at a Fortune 100 or a 20-person startup if you don't adjust.

  1. Platform list. Cut platforms you don't run; add the ones you do. A JD that names Ironclad when you use Agiloft filters out the actual matches.
  2. Scope of "ownership". Director-tier JDs at a Series B should not claim "manages a team of 5"; Manager-tier JDs at a Fortune 500 should not say "first legal-ops hire."
  3. Required vs preferred qualifications. Move 70% of your default "required" list to "preferred." Most legal-ops talent self-selects out of long required lists.
  4. Salary band. Use the per-role salary page to set the band; do not copy the template default blindly. Pay-transparency states require this anyway.
  5. Reporting line. Name the actual title — GC, Director of Legal Ops, COO. "Reports to legal" tells candidates nothing.
  6. Location and remote stance. Be specific. "Remote" without "all 50 states" or "ET/CT only" generates wasted screens.
  7. Equity language. If you're private and offer equity, say so. Even a small grant signals partnership and converts senior IC offers.
  8. Cut anything you copied without meaning it. Generic "fast-paced, collaborative environment" filler dilutes signal.

Where to post

  • HireLegalOps — niche board, 60-day listing, candidates already know the terminology. Post here.
  • CLOC member directory + community channels — warm-network access at director/VP tier.
  • LinkedIn — works for volume, but filter for the right titles ("legal operations analyst", "CLM administrator") not the generic "legal" tag.
  • Boutique recruiters — Major, Lindsey & Africa / Robert Half Legal / Special Counsel for Director and VP-tier. Skip for IC roles.
